If you've recently lost a loved one, we can help with the financial and property issues that need resolution. Most of the time there is nothing urgent and you should first concentrate on grieving and taking care of your emotional needs and those of your loved ones left behind.
When you do come in, our goal is to make the process as easy as possible for you. Often a probate is not necessary, and if it is necessary it can be very simple.
At that first appointment it is helpful if you bring:
- Death certificate
- A listing of possible devisees or heirs and their addresses
- A copy of the decedent's will, if there is one
- A general list of the property (car titles or registration cards)
- Any bills to the deceased you may have received
